Kick start your new decade yoga with a little blog reading

We are well into the new year now, and it’s just about that time when the novelty wears off and we really start to flag a little on the old new year’s resolution. So, to help you out on a chilly Monday morning in the office (possibly your first work day back from the festive season), here are a few blog posts about yoga and new year’s resolutions.

Elsie’s Yoga Kula

Elsie's Yoga Kula

Elsie kicks off the new year and new decade with some thoughts on “owning yourself”. There’s some great advice in her post:

let go of any predefined expectations or limitations in whatever you choose to endeavor

Be sure to check out the rest of Elsie’s blog – she has lots of yoga podcasts for free.

Raw Food Passion

Acro Yoga
April from Raw Food Passion blog is another inspiration – last year she moved from a career in a cubicle to becoming a yoga teacher. Her blog has lots of good advice and some great raw food recipes. Her new year’s resolutions include improving her acro yoga as well as buying local organic produce and volunteering. Plus, she has a recipe for a Chocolate Coconut Banana Smoothie that I love!

Mom Start

Mom Start is giving away some yoga videos for the new year which she can’t properly review at the moment – you’ve got until the 18th of January to get your entry in. Mom Start isn’t dedicated to yoga per se, but I can’t resist a giveaway!

My Yoga Blog

Ursula’s post is very honest and perfectly captures those days when your practice is just tough. When you don’t feel like actually starting your practice. But she reminds us

Not to give up.

Lindsay Fields

Perched Eagle pose Lindsay Yoga
While not a new year’s post or resolution, I love this post from Lindsay because it reminds us to take our practice with us into our every day lives – yoga doesn’t end when you get up off the mat and leave class. Pay a bit of attention to yourself through the day and do some yoga at your desk!
